The Padres Ran the Table, and It Shows

SEPTEMBER 13, 2026

A quick lap of the standings, offenses and pitching staffs.

Two teams went 6-0 this week for very different reasons. San Diego jumped eleven spots to eighth on a perfect week, while the Dodgers slid past Milwaukee at the top. Here's the state of things around the league.

Power Rankings

Power ranking — record, run differential and recent form, blended into one order. Tap a team for its week.

The Dodgers claimed the top spot at 90-58 after a 5-1 week and a plus-22 run differential, with Max Muncy going 11-for-23 with two homers. But the loudest move belonged to San Diego, up eleven to eighth on a 6-0 sweep behind Jackson Merrill's 11-for-24, three-homer, 10-RBI week. Detroit made the same eleven-spot leap on a 4-2 run, plus-12 for the week.

Best offenses

Team OPS — on-base plus slugging. Higher is better.

The Cubs lead the team-OPS board at .771, a hair ahead of the Dodgers at .757, with Washington and Milwaukee packed in behind. Nothing separating the middle of that pack by much, but Chicago's bats are the deepest going.

Best rotation

Starting rotation ERA — starters only. Lower is better.
