Elly De La Cruz Torches a Week to Remember

SEPTEMBER 11, 2026

Who climbed and who cooled over the past week.

The week belonged to Elly De La Cruz, who went 12-for-24 with five homers for the Reds. Behind him, a few big bats cooled off and a handful of arms slipped a tier. Here's who's trending which way.

Cooling on the mound

Of the strongest arms, the ones who shed the most form this week.

On the mound, Foster Griffin and Sean Burke each shed seven form points to land at 60, and Keider Montero dropped five to 68. Arrows pointing down, but all three are still in workable territory.

Hot at the plate

The week's hottest hitters — top OPS over the last 7 days (min at-bats), with their game line.

De La Cruz was untouchable, a 1.746 OPS across six games with five homers and 10 RBI. Rafael Devers wasn't far off in San Francisco at a 1.605 mark on three homers, and Travis Bazzana and Teoscar Hernández both cleared 1.45 for the week too.

Cooling off

Hitters whose bat cooled most this week — shown with their 7-day line.

A few good bats simply went quiet. Bryce Harper managed 4-for-25 over seven games and slipped .024 in season OPS, with Michael Harris II (2-for-23) and Matt Olson in the same boat. None of it is alarming, just a cold week for names used to better.

Changing colors

Players who moved up or down a tier on our scale this week.

Only one tier change of note: Robbie Ray slid from above-average to average. A small step, not a collapse.
